Ottawa Massage

Downtown Ottawa Massage Therapist Emily McCook is an Honors graduate from Trillium College, and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

Emily is well versed in Swedish massage techniques, relaxation massage, sports massage, post-injury recovery, lymphatic drainage, hot stone massage, myofascial release, cupping, and deep tissue massage. She especially enjoys helping athletes recover from workouts, and post-injury rehabilitation.

Swedish massage uses a combination of hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, tapping and friction to break up muscle knots, called adhesions.

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. Similar movements and techniques as Swedish massage may be used with a more intense pressure.

Lymphatic Massage, or Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage technique used to encourage the natural drainage of lymph and to increase blood flow in the deep and superficial veins.
